A new limited fountain pen ink line from TWSBI! This 1791 bottled ink set contains the first six colors released from TWSBI, each set in an 18ml frosted glass bottle. Colors include Pink, Orange, Prairie Green, Emerald Green, Sky Blue, and Royal Purple. The series name 1791 comes from a famous book written in 1791 in China, called "The Dreams of the Red Chamber". TWSBI picked names for each of these inks in Chinese from this book. In English, the names just describe the color of the ink, however, in Chinese, it comes from 6 famous buildings described in this book.
With a history of more than 40 years of manufacturing, including producing high-end pens for other brands, Ta Shin Precision decided to start selling under their own brand, TWSBI. The name TWSBI is made up from TWS and BI. ‘TWS’ is the reversed initials of the phrase ‘San Wen Tong’, translated Hall of Three Cultures, and ‘BI’ literally means writing instrument.

I am surprised how dark this ink is. It's more blackish than bluish, which is a good thing, because most blue-black ink tends to be either a greyish blue or mostly greyish. This is definitely a blackish blue. It flows smoothly. On the papers I tried, I did not find any shimmer, a mild sheen maybe seen on some papers.

Smooth writer
This is my third Vanishing Point—and there's something undeniably charismatic about this fountain pen from Pilot. I had previously tried the fine and medium nibs, but as they say, third time’s the charm. The broad nib, in particular, is one of the best I’ve ever used—smooth, expressive, and an absolute joy to write with. Easily one of the best purchases in my fountain pen journey so far.
My only regret? Not choosing the broad nib sooner.
