The Pelikan M900 Toledo White fountain pens are a special edition celebrating the art of damascening with a beautiful handcrafted decorative 925 sterling silver sleeve. Several elaborate steps are necessary to refine the detailed pelican motif on the barrel. The special pelican motif is refined by hand by a goldsmith with many expressive details, so the very individual expression gives the writing instrument its vibrancy. Two pelican motifs can be seen on the surrounding 925 sterling silver sleeve: a small pelican stands together in front of a pelican with widened wings, and the second motif shows a pelican with an open beak. Both motifs are framed by ornaments. During the manufacturing process, the design is etched onto the sleeve, and then the filigree details are stitched by hand. Finally, the surface of the barrel is coated with palladium. Each Pelikan Special Edition M910 Toledo White fountain pen is fitted with an 18kt gold nib available in varying nib sizes.
