TACCIA Iro-joukei Urushi Fountain Pen - The Day of Spring (Limited Edition). The Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) is one of the most famous flowers of Japan. When sakuras blossoms are Japan's announcement that spring has sprung. Sakura is not only a symbol of beauty and gracefulness but it also implies a kind of “Japanese view of life and death" as it only fully blooms for a short period of time, withering very quickly and falling away with the wind. In October 2022, TACCIA began a challenging series, in which they would release a new urushi fountain pen each month. Each pen would draw inspiration from a special event or sighting during that month. In April 2023, the limited edition “The Day of Spring” adopts sakura as the theme. The pen barrel is crafted from ebonite and shaped to have 12 sides. The lacquer artist first hand paints a soft beige lacquer layer by layer, and then creates a seamless gradient with pink lacquer. The pen comes with a Japanese-made Sailor 14k-gold nib. Purely handmade, limited to 88 pieces worldwide. A Japanese-made kimono pen pouch is included in the gift box.
